Formula

Everyone has theories on when to start formula, how much to give, etc. But when it comes down to it, no one really knows how to balance formula with breast feeding. Its a tricky situation. You want to give her enough formula so that she is full and doesn't come crying for more in less than two hours. But you don't want to give her so much that she stops feeding less and less with you. 'Coz this will reduce your supply and from there on its a slippery slope.

I have been trying to find that balance and constantly wonder when I should be moving up from 3 ounces to 4 ounces. I wonder how frustrating it must be for my kid as I try to find the right amount of Formula!

Pram

Where can you buy a nice Pram in Chennai? We went to Bloo Pink but they literally had only one! Left with not too many choices, we had to resort to the tried 'n tested 'Mother Care'. Of course, they had a variety of models. The next question was to decide which one we wanted and what purpose we would be using the pram for. Given that it was going to assist my baby in her daily strolls (more like she lies down in the pram as the nanny strolls), we wanted something sturdy and durable but also something which would be useful when we traveled. We decided on one that probably has too many bells and whistles... you know how it is...you go with an idea of what you want, you get swept away by the fancy piece in the corner you probably don't need. Exactly what happened to us. But we are quite happy with the purchase and took our baby for a stroll in the evening. It was fun to see her look at the trees and the sky!

Class of 2013!

Though its been a few months, I had to write about this. School Admissions in India are crazy!!

Can you believe that school admissions are in such demand that I had to register my unborn child into the class of 2013!! Neither did I know the sex of the baby nor the date of birth but hey, I had a slip that said she was "wait listed" (C'mon, 4 years is too late to expect a confirmed admit) at Shishya, a leading school in Chennai.

Baby Milestones

Why are we so eager that our kids achieve milestones faster than when "the baby book" says it will happen? I have to accept that I am guilty of this. When will she learn to grab things out of my hand? When will her head stabilize? When will she turn? I agree its added pressure - More for me than my little baby - but I just can't seem to help it!

Just the other say, my baby turned for the first time. I almost missed it as I ran to grab the camera and capture the moment. Of course, she's forgotten how she did it and acts as if it never happened...

I love watching her grow up - do new things everyday but as most parents will tell you, "Enjoy the present, they grow up so fast!"
